| Australians live an enviable lifestyle in terms of their relationship with the outdoor environment and use of external spaces. This is no more apparent than in the tropical north where climate dictates much of the way in which we live our lives.
The Australian Lightweight has been modelled largely on these guiding principles. The houses are outwardly focused, drawing influence from the landscape surroundings of the coastline, bush, hillside, riverbanks or open-air settings of every day life.
A combination of lightweight and heavyweight materials may be used, depending on the location and personality of design.
The focus is to provide good passive design, with plenty of natural lighting and airflow throughout. An emphasis of course, is on providing the right mix of space and a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor environments.
